A sprinkler system malfunctioned on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in water spreading throughout the main hall and several adjacent hallways and classrooms, the Iberia Parish School District announced.

The change comes days after the LSU Board of Supervisors and system President Wade Rousse approved major restructuring to the LSU system.   

The teacher, Trey King, 40, was a middle school science teacher at McKinley Middle, the school district confirmed. The district did not give King's exact charge, besides that it involved a minor.   

Move comes after the Baton Rouge-based business said it would open restaurants in the United Kingdom in 2026.
