24 arrests made in Houston robbery sting linked to death of New Orleans officer

The Houston Police Department announced a large number of arrests made in a robbery sting that was linked to the death of a New Orleans Police officer.

NOPD officer Everett Briscoe was shot and killed in August along with his friend, DJ Riculfy.

 

They were sitting outside having dinner when two suspects approached the outside of the restaurant with guns and demanded the victims' belongings.

Anthony Jenkins, 21, and Frederick Jackson, 19, will face capital murder and attempted capital murder charges, Houston authorities said. Both men were out on bond in connection to other felony charges at the time of the shooting: Jenkins on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and Jackson on a charge of aggravated robbery.
