In a media briefing the NOPD said two people were detained. They are the victim's brothers ages 18-19, according to police. Detectives said it is unclear if the scene of the crime was their permanent residence.
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the homicide of a toddler in the French Quarter.
Detectives said a 3-year-old girl was shot just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday inside of a residence near the intersection of Burgundy and Conti Streets. She was taken to a local hospital via an ambulance where she later died, according to police.
