Three juveniles escape from Bridge City Center for Youth

Three young males escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth early Sunday morning, according to the Office of Juvenile Justice.

Officials say at approximately 2:00 am, three escapees, including a 16-year old from Pointe Coupee Parish, a 14-year-old from St. Bernard Parish, and an 18-year-old from Orleans Parish broke out of the facility.


Following the incident, OJJ immediately locked down the facility and notified the police. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and State Police assisted on the scene and currently helping in finding the juveniles.

As of 3:00 pm Sunday, all three escapees remain at large. Officials say there were no staff injuries due to the incident, and the campus is secure at this time. A Command Center has been established at the facility where they will gather, track, and distribute information to find the escaped juveniles.
